29th Annual TAASU Freedom Breakfast

The TAASU Freedom Breakfast was created not only to commemorate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., but also to promote unity and harmony within our community. We invite you to attend this special event which highlights UMKC’s institutional values of diversity, inclusiveness and respect. This is the 50th year anniversary for TAASU. Our breakfast keynote speakers will be, Margaret Evans, one of the original Founders of TAASU and UMKC alum, Michael Watson, Former TAASU member and UMKC student, and Cameron Johnson, current TAASU President. The presentations will be centered around the evolution of the African American experience on UMKC’s campus. The program will also feature special tributes from UMKC students.
