The Right Moves: Job Search and Career Development Strategies for Lawyers by Valerie Fontaine – This book is a comprehensive job search strategy guide that has advice for both new and seasoned lawyers.  It will help you create a job search plan and give you a better understanding of the terrain you will encounter on your job search journey.  It covers everything from an overview of the legal market, search strategies, resumes and cover letters, interviewing, negotiating and more.

The New Lawyer’s Survival Guide, Vol. 1: From Lemons to Lemonade in the New Legal Job Market by Richard Hermann – This resource is a great chance to begin considering what to you do with your J.D. that is outside the traditional law firm route.  It covers topics ranging from J.D. Preferred jobs to small town law and job searching strategies.  This is a concise and straightforward guide on how to begin thinking creatively in a challenging legal job market.
