Mitchell Reilly

About

Growing up mostly in Kansas City, Mitchell experienced a lot of what KC has to offer regarding the classical music community, including middle and high school musical events and competitions, professional ensembles and venues, and world class teachers and artists. As a
local, he feels he has an innate responsibility to teach the youth musicians and guide them with
the resources and opportunities to succeed and to give back to the community that developed
him into the musician and artist he is today.

Mitchell is currently a first year DMA violin student studying at The University of Missouri,
Kansas-City. He previously received his Bachelors and Masters degree at UMKC, all under the
pedagogy of Professor Joseph Genualdi. During the concert season he is a member of the
violin section for both the Saint Joseph Symphony and the Topeka Symphony as well as a substitute for the violin section of the Kansas City Symphony.

In the summers he attends music festivals and conferences throughout both the United States and internationally, performing advanced chamber music and orchestral works. He has won fellowship positions at Kent Blossom, University of North Texas summer strings institute, Mahlerfest, and Euro Arts festival. These experiences have included collaborations with the Emerson String Quartet, the Miami String Quartet, Concertmasters Robert Chen, Peter Otto, Noah Geller, Amy Lee, Alexander Kerr, and many more musicians.

Outside of music and teaching he is passionate about cooking, drawing, nature, traveling and
is a huge fan of all types of sports. Above all else he enjoys the company of his family and
friends.
