Ensembles in the Schools

Ensembles in the Schools provides high-quality band, orchestra, and general music instruction in area elementary and middle schools. Since its inception in 2008, Ensembles in the Schools has reached hundreds of students learning to sing or play orchestra and band instruments.  Ensembles in the Schools aims to prepare younger students for the more intensive instructional environment of Musical Bridges and Composers in the Schools.

Through this flexible program, the Academy is able to tailor a curriculum to meet the needs of each partnering school.  From general music to string class to jazz band, Ensembles in the Schools instructors make sure that students receive the high-quality music instruction they deserve.

Educators, school administrators, and parents are encouraged to contact the Musical Bridges/Ensembles in the Schools  at music-ce@umkc.edu or 816-235-5448 to discuss how Ensembles in the Schools can develop an individualized plan to supplement your school’s existing curriculum.
