Human Resources welcomes you to the Roo Employee Engagement page, a comprehensive page designed to share upcoming engagement events and resources for managers to engage their employees. Our hope is to continue creating a culture of care by supporting our community of faculty and staff through events that focus on employee development and having fun. Events will focus on recognition, community building, development, family-friendly events, and more.
With fall upon us, we want to encourage employees to get outside and be active. We invite you to join the “Walk It Out!” UMKC Employee Walking Club!
The walking club will meet two times a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon on both the Volker Campus and Health Sciences Campus and aims to get employees moving and meeting others. Employees can log their participation on a Walking Log and if you complete an average of 2 walks per week between Tuesday, September 6th through Friday, December 2nd, you will be entered to win a $100 gift card for new walking shoes or fitness gear!
The programs listed below are offered regularly to provide development opportunities for employees. There will be additional professional development opportunities through the Roo Employee Engagement Program that will be listed in the Upcoming Events Section above. The Supervisor Development Series hosted by UM System HR is designed for newly hired or promoted supervisors who manage staff. By participating in this program, supervisors and managers will be equipped with the fundamental skills necessary to be an effective and successful manager of talent. The Series on Leadership Essentials (SOLE)
The Series on Leadership Essentials (SOLE) is dedicated to helping you lead in your role, and is facilitated by the University of Missouri System Human Resources Learning & Organizational Development team. This program focuses on developing leaders in the areas of communication, engagement, giving and receiving feedback, and navigating change. The next four-session series will begin this fall and will include participants from all campuses.
