National Take Your Child to Work Day takes place on the fourth Thursday of April every year, and this year it falls on Thursday, April 28th. UMKC happily invites you and your children to help us celebrate this occasion.
Throughout the day on Thursday, April 28th, parents and their children will be able to choose from an array of activities with different departments across the Volker and Health Sciences campuses. Activities range from arts & crafts to a scavenger hunt, sports, and science demonstrations. Children can also participate in a special meet and greet with UMKC’s beloved mascot, Kasey the Kangaroo. Children who participate for the day will receive a UMKC Take Your Child to Work Day t-shirt, a certificate of completion for attending the event, and free lunch in the Atterbury Student Success Center Dining Hall.
This day will also be a great opportunity for high school aged children who are considering becoming a future UMKC Roo. They can spend the day on our beautiful campus and get to know more about the educational opportunities and programs offered here at UMKC through a campus tour with Admissions.
Children of all ages are welcome to attend this event. Although we encourage everyone to participate in Take Your Child to Work Day, please seek approval from your supervisor to ensure departmental guidelines are followed and proper coverage is met. A Supervisor Approval Form will be required to register for the event.
All employees who are planning to bring their children to work on April 28, 2022, will need to register their children and sign a Waiver for each child attending by Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Click here to register your child.
