Colder weather will be approaching soon, and with it comes flu season! Luckily for UMKC employees, there will be several upcoming on campus flu shot clinics beginning early next month!
Flu shots are covered by the University for faculty, staff and dependents that are 12 years and older and enrolled in a University of Missouri System (UM) medical plan. Children that are 12 years and older, must be accompanied by an adult in order to receive a flu shot. Due to different vaccination needs, children age 11 and younger should obtain their flu vaccine from their health care provider, health department or community clinic.
Be sure to bring your insurance card and a completed flu shot consent form with you to the clinic to receive your shot. Please note that completing the consent form early will make the process of getting the flu shot faster.
Employees that are not enrolled in a UM medical plan can still receive a flu shot from the clinic when they are on campus. Flu shots will cost $20 in cash or check payable to Healthy for Life for employees who are not enrolled in a medical plan with the University.
