The HR Service Center at UMKC is a cross-functional area in the Human Resources office where employees are able to be supported in a variety of areas. The HR Service Center at UMKC serves as a valuable resource for employees related to any of the HR service areas.

WALK IT OUT! Employee Walking Club

With fall upon us, we want to encourage employees to get outside and be active. We invite you to join the “Walk It Out!” UMKC Employee Walking Club!

The walking club will meet two times a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon on both the Volker Campus and Health Sciences Campus and aims to get employees moving and meeting others. Employees can log their participation on a Walking Log and if you complete an average of 2 walks per week between Tuesday, September 6th  through Friday, December 2nd, you will be entered to win a $100 gift card for new walking shoes or fitness gear!

More detailed information about the “Walk It Out!” UMKC Employee Walking Club can be found online. Please complete the Participation Form online to let us know you’re interested, so that we can send you information for the walking club. EAP Services Available to All Employees

As an employee at UMKC, your personal and professional well-being is a priority. There is no better time for a reminder that the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available to help with personal, family, relationship, and financial difficulties.

Through our continued partnership with Saint Luke’s Health System, Human Resources and UM Total Rewards offers an EAP service to all faculty, staff, and dependents. Program benefits include access to professional counselors trained to assist with stress, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, work concerns, financial issues, and family or relationship difficulties.

Employees can receive up to three phone or in-person counseling sessions for any personal issue. EAP also provides access to more than 5,000 online articles and 500 videos about health topics. In addition, a monthly webinar series is also available that has recently covered topics such as care for aging loved ones, finances, nutrition, health, and an upcoming Vision Board webinar in January.

Evening appointments are available, and emergencies are responded to 24/7. EAP counselors can also assist in referral for on-going care.

UMKC Employee and Family Day at Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead – June 25, 2022

Bring your family and join Chancellor and Sue Agrawal for a day at the Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead, 13800 Switzer Road, Overland Park, KS.

Employees can sign up for free tickets for themselves and their family members online here. You must sign up by end of the day Thursday, June 23rd.

All tickets will be distributed at the farmstead between 9am and 10am on June 25th. You must pick up your tickets during this time.

Mammogram Van coming to UMKC!

Diagnostic Imaging Centers’ mobile 3D mammography van is headed to Voelker campus on July 13 and Health Sciences campus on July 14. The van will be offering quick and convenient mammograms to employees and spouses that are on the University medical plan and that are due for their yearly screening. Mammograms are recommended yearly for women ages 40 & above.  If you are interested in booking an appointment, reach out to Secily Adams, UM System Health Engagement Coordinator at secily_adams@uhc.com
