Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Getting Around KC project?

Getting Around KC is a research project that hopes to find out more about how Kansas City residents get around the city. We want to learn about how you use and view transportation, how transportation impacts your finances, and how transportation impacts your health. As the city of KCMO considers policies and programs that impact transportation, such as road conditions, affordability, safety, and public transit, we want to make sure the preferences and health of the community are being considered.

Who are you?

We are the Getting Around KC team made up of researchers and staff from University Health (formerly Truman Medical Center), the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and Children’s Mercy Kansas City. Our team works with Kansas City, MO (KCMO) communities to address barriers that lead to health disparities. Our work aims to help KCMO communities  reduce rates of diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic diseases. You can read more about our team here.

How is the Getting Around KC project funded?

This project is funded by the National Institutes of Health, Environmental Protection Agency, and Department of Transportation.
