Academic Advising Resources

All students new to UMKC are required to meet with an academic advisor prior to registering for classes. Depending on your student’s major, they may be required to meet with their academic advisor prior to registering each semester. New freshmen are required to go to Orientation, and will register during their Orientation session.

Provides support and resources to help students succeed academically and personally. Services include Supplemental Instruction (SI), UMKC Tutoring, the Writing Studio, and RooUp Seminars.

Campus Dining Services

Provides UMKC students, faculty and staff with dining options across campus. Also assists with meal plans, dietary restrictions and nutrition information.

Campus Recreation

Promotes and advances healthy lifestyles through diverse fitness and wellness opportunities. The recreation center includes athletic courts, fitness equipment, an indoor track, an aquatic center and more.

Cashiers/Student Loan Office

Cashiers/Student Loan Office

Assists students with understanding their billing invoices, account status, and payment responsibilities. The Cashiers Office also directs students to the appropriate departments to address any specific issues, and handles general inquiries regarding UMKC Institutional Loans, Health Professional Loans, and Perkins Loans.

The Division of Student Affairs is responsible for providing a variety of student support, service, and educational programs to the University community. The Division also facilitates the total educational growth and development of UMKC students to include personal, social, physical, cultural, leadership and intellectual development, as well as student conduct and responsibilities.

Jumpstart

Jumpstart

Jumpstart is a national early education organization working toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed. Jumpstart recruits college students to work with preschool-age children on language, literacy, and social-emotional skills. Jumpstart AmeriCorps members serve 10-12 hours a week in local early childhood centers. For those eligible, college students can potentially earn Federal Work-Study, course credit, and a $1289 Segal AmeriCorps Education Award in the process. Students gain valuable skills and experience, and help prepare our youngest learners for lifelong success! JUMPSTART IS NOW HIRING for the 2020-2021 school year!

Kansas City Athletics

Kansas City Athletics is the University’s Division 1 program with 16 teams! UMKC students get into all home games free with their student I.D. To get all the latest updates, fun giveaways and highlights, follow us @KCRoosAthletics.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre (KCRep)

KCRep, the professional theatre in residence at UMKC, produces hit plays and musicals fresh off the Broadway stage, beloved classics, and world premieres, along with Kansas City’s favorite special holiday event A Christmas Carol. KCRep offers affordable and entertaining options for students, faculty, and all Kansas City arts enthusiasts, including $20 student rush tickets for regular season productions.

RISE: Resources, Intervention, Support, and Education

Offers confidential support services to UMKC all students and employees who are victims and survivors of sexual assault and sexual violence, gender-based violence, stalking, and relationship abuse. RISE also provides information and assistance to family members, friends, colleagues, and allies of all victims and survivors.

The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures

The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures

Located on the UMKC campus and home to the world’s largest fine-scale miniature collection and one of the nation’s largest antique toy collections, The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures educates, inspires and delights adults and children of all ages.
