In light of recent events around social justice and human rights in America, UMKC students have expressed a strong interest in becoming more involved in their local community; because of this, UMKC administration is inviting several community organizations that focus on Education, Women and Children, Social Justice, and Healthcare Access. This is event is open to the public with a specific focus on reaching out to college students across the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan area.
The 2018 Civic Connections Fair will take place on the 2nd floor of Pierson Auditorium during the EOA Conference on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.

Students and Volunteers
Make time during the conference to meet representatives from various local organizations and to discover new service opportunities. Be prepared to ask questions, take notes, and make new friends!
Are you recruiting new volunteers? The Civic Connections Fair is an ideal opportunity to meet many UMKC students at once. Registration for the event is $25.00 and available through the Career Services Handshake system. Please not that if this is your first time using Handshake, you will need to register both for an account in the system and then for the Civic Connections Volunteer Fair. Space will be on a first come, first served basis. Due to space consideration, the registration deadline is close of business, October 9, and registration must be received by that date in order to secure booth space. Cancellations must be received 48 hours prior to the event date in order for a refund.
