The Diversity Advocates program is a diversity and inclusion learning community equipping faculty, staff and students with diversity-related skills and strategies to use on the job and around our campuses.

By participating in trainings and engaging with colleagues and peers, Diversity Advocates become empowered change-agents. As our eyes and ears on the ground, Diversity Advocates also help us identify diversity and inclusion needs and gaps at UMKC.

There are two ways to be considered an active member of this learning community and receive your official Diversity Advocate certificate, lapel pin and decal:

Number 1:

  • Complete at least two Division of Diversity and Inclusion trainings
  • Attend at least two general meetings annually
  • Facilitate one training or discussion related to a diversity topic with Diversity Advocates

Number 2:
