Pierluigi_Balice

Dr. Pierluigi Balice is a full-time faculty member in the department of periodontology at UMKC. He teaches periodontics and implant dentistry to undergraduate and graduate students.

Dr. Balice completed his three-year specialty training at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine where he received a Certificate in Periodontics and a Master of Dental Science degree. He is one of the recipients of the Tannenbaum/Schoor Award by the Northeastern Society of Periodontists. Today his practice is limited to Periodontics and Implant Dentistry.

Prior to moving to the United States he practiced general dentistry in Italy. He also attended the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, and the University of British Columbia, Canada, for internships as well as being in London, UK, in private practice. Dr. Balice obtained his Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) summa cum laude from the University of Bari “Aldo Moro”, Italy.

He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, International Association of Dental Research, and American Dental Education Association along with maintaining memberships in Italian associations.

Outside of work, he enjoys the outdoors, music, playing soccer and traveling. Dr. Balice’s goal is to provide the best quality of care for his patients. He speaks Italian, English and Spanish.
