Ahmed Zarrough

Dr. Ahmed Zarrough is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Restorative Clinical Sciences at UMKC. He received his Doctor of Science (DSc) in Oral Biology and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dentistry, Boston, MA. 

Prior to his current position, Dr. Zarrough practiced as a general dentist in Tripoli, Libya. He also formerly served as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Operative Dentistry at Zawia University, Zawia, Libya. Dr. Zarrough’s latest research, “Resolvin D1 Modulates Functions of Periodontal Ligament Fibroblast in Vitro,” was presented at the American Association for Dental Research (AADR) in March 2016.

What Dr. Zarrough enjoys about practicing dentistry is the ability to provide quality dental care to his patients and helping to promote their oral health and improve their overall well-being. He believes that oral health is the gate to the health of the entire body. He also enjoys boosting his patients’ self-confidence by helping them develop healthy and natural looking smiles.

Dr. Zarrough was born and raised in Tripoli, Libya and is fluent in both English and Arabic. In his spare time, he enjoys soccer, skiing, jogging, drawing, travel, and outdoor activities.
