Sunita Khatri earned her Bachelor of Science in Physics from Chautara Multiple Campus in Sindhupalchok, Nepal (2019), followed by a Master of Science in Physics from St. Xavier’s College in Maitighar, Kathmandu, Nepal (2023). She joined the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC) in August 2025 as a PhD student in Natural Sciences and became a member of the Computational Physics Group (CPG) the same year. Sunita’s academic journey has been shaped by her strong interest in the fundamental behavior of materials and the computational tools used to study them.
Sunita is broadly interested in the relationship between a material structure, its intrinsic properties, and its performance in technological applications. Her current work focuses on computational wafer characterization, aiming to better understand how microscopic structural features influence macroscopic material behavior.
