Jinwoo Hwang, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor
Jinwoo Hwang STEM Group Lead
The Ohio State University
Department of Materials Science and Engineering
Center for Electron Microscopy and Analysis
Biography
Prof. Hwang’s research interests include advanced structural characterization of materials, S/TEM technique development, and computational materials modeling. In particular, he has developed novel S/TEM techniques and simulation methods based on electron nanodiffraction and quantitative imaging, for nanostructured materials, oxide heterostructures, and non-crystalline materials.
Research Group
Collaborations with the CPG
Prof. Hwang collaborates with the CPG through an NSF sponsored Designing Materials to Revolutionize and Engineer our Future (DMREF) project (DMR-1539918): Predictive Modeling of Polymer-Derived Ceramics: Discovering Methods for the Design and Fabrication of Complex Disordered Solids. Prof. Hwang’s group leads the fluctuation electron microscopy characterization effort.
