Conducting Repertoire

Finalized repertoire is not yet available for KCSS 2022.

Conducting Participants will conduct four times with the UMKC Conservatory Chamber Players and four additional times in breakout groups. Auditors will conduct four times in breakout groups only. The observer track is designed for all other individuals wishing to engage in the symposium and does not include conducting rounds. Participants and Auditors will be able to select their conducting round excerpts at a later date.

2021 repertoire was chosen from wind octet arrangements of the following works:

Please note: with the exception of Oktkt and Cosi Fan Tutte, KCCS has obtained the appropriate permissions to arrange the above works for wind octet. UMKC Bands will provide the corresponding octet scores free of charge, to be used exclusively by KCCS attendees for the purposes of the symposium. As is standard practice for all conducting symposia, we ask that participants purchase the score to the original version of their chosen repertoire. This way, conductors can study the primary source, gather all of the necessary information, and support the composer by purchasing their music.
