Description
UMKC Single Reed Day (October 29, 2023) is a free event geared towards middle and high school clarinet and saxophone students studying in Missouri and Kansas. Events include general clinics for middle school students and clinics on All-District/All-State Band audition materials for high school students. Clinicians include Dr. Jane Carl (clarinet), Professor Zach Shemon (saxophone), Dr. Kyle Jones (saxophone), and others. The day will conclude with a concert featuring the Conservatory Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony. The clinics are open to the public and single-reed students of all ages are encouraged to attend.
This event is free, however we do ask students to register ahead of time by October 25.
Participants should being their instrument to clinics.
