Hui Jin


About

Hui Jin is a violinist from China. She considers music to be a lifelong adventure, an infinite possibility of combinations to discover and delight. She have always had a keen interest and passion for music, both academically and practically. Like many, these interests originated from a love of performance, which over time introduced her to the academic side of music. Hui Jin is a committed and enthusiastic violinist with a genuine love of music and teaching.

In April, 2021, Hui Jin has been accepted by the University of Missouri Kansas City for her doctoral degree in the studio of Joseph Genauldi. Hui Jin is also a recipient of Concertmaster Fellowship at UMKC. She also has been accepted by many others schools for her doctoral degree like IU Jacobs of Music, Rutger University, Stony Brook University and she got the full scholarship and assistanceship from Rutgers University and Kansas University.

In April, 2019, Hui Jin accepted a president scholarship to pursue her master degree in violin performance with Professor Wen Qian who is the assistant concertmaster at Metropolitan Opera teaches in the Mannes School of Music. Shortly afterwards, she attended the Mannes Sound Festival and made her American debut at the Steinway Hall in New York. Her performance was well received by the audience.

In 2016, under the mentorship of violin professor Lee-Chin Siow, she went on to win the 3rd Prize in the Cremona International Competition for Strings in Italy.

In 2015, Hui Jin accepted a full scholarship to pursue her undergraduate studies in violin with Professor Siow at the College of Charleston. Shortly afterwards, she won the second price in Georgia Philharmonic Samuel Fordis Young Artust Concerto Competition. Later, she also performed at the 241st U.S. Independence Day celebrations hosted by the U.S. Consulate in Wuhan, China. Hui Jin was a recipient of the Marion and Wayland H. Cato, Jr. Endowed Scholarship for the School of the Arts, the Lee Harwood Scholarship in Music and the Reba Kinne Huge Award in Music. During his undergraduate studies, Hui Jin was the concertmaster in the College of Charleston Orchestra and she also got the teaching assistantship to teach the student who minor in music.

Hui Jin is extremely passionate about receiving new ideas and inspiration through different artists.

She had participated in many great festivals where she attended master classes help by Ilya Kaler, Mark Kaplan, Roland and Almita Vamos, Rebecca Fischer and Ming Feng Hsin.
