Credit Registration Process


How to Register

For Current degree-seeking UMKC students:

  1. Contact your chosen program to register and pay all associated fees.  For Kansas City Conducting Symposium, Theory/Aural Skills Graduate Review, UMKC Composition Workshop, and Music History Graduate Review, you can register for these classes online through Pathway.
  2. To register for the JW Pepper Reading Sessions, please contact J.W. Pepper directly. To register for UMKC credit, please contact us at music-ce@umkc.edu to obtain forms.

For Non-degree-seeking students:

  1. Contact your chosen program to register and pay all associated fees.
            A) For Kansas City Conducting Symposium, Theory/Aural Skills
                Graduate Review, UMKC Composition Workshop, and Music History Graduate Review, you can mail in our
                paper registration form.
            B) To register for the JW Pepper Reading Sessions, please contact J.W. Pepper directly. To register for
                UMKC credit, please contact us at music-ce@umkc.edu to obtain forms.
  2. Locate your class’s course number (which will also include letters) and class number (which will be five digits long).  (These are listed on our Professional Development Current Offerings page, and can also be found by searching UMKC’s Schedule of Classes.
  3. Fill out the Continuing Education registration form.
  4. If you do not yet have a student number, leave that section blank; you will be assigned a student number once the registrar processes your information.
  5. Submit your completed form by email (music-ce@umkc.edu) or mail to: Conservatory Academy, UMKC Conservatory, 5301 Charlotte St, Kansas City, MO 64112
  6. A few days after you submit this form, you will receive an email from the registrar with your assigned student number.  Alternatively, you may check for your number by emailing music-ce@umkc.edu.  Please keep this number for future reference.
  7. You will also be automatically assigned a Single Sign On (SSO) which is also known as a user ID.  The SSO is the key to all computer resources at UMKC.  Click here for information about setting up your SSO Password.  Within approximately one week, you will be able to use your SSO to check your class registration online.
  8. The cashier’s office will bill you directly for your class. Bills are written at the end of the month.
