Isaac Brinberg

Isaac Brinberg is currently pursuing a Masters of Music in Wind Conducting at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance, studying with Professors Steven D. Davis and Dr. Joseph Parisi. He serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Bands at the Conservatory and appearing as a guest conductor with the Conservatory Wind Symphony and Conservatory Wind Ensemble.

Prior to beginning his Masters, Isaac served as assistant band director at Discovery Middle School in Granger, Indiana, where he team-taught four band classes and two extra-curricular jazz bands. He also worked with the Penn High School band program, serving both on marching band staff and leading an after-school jazz band. He served as an ISSMA Solo and Ensemble adjudicator, ISSMA High School Organizational Contest adjudicator, and IBA All-State Tuba adjudicator.

Isaac holds his Bachelor of Music Education degree with a Minor in Wind Conducting from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, graduating with High Distinction. While at Indiana, Isaac studied tuba with Daniel Perantoni at Indiana University and pursued additional conducting studies with Dr. Eric Smedley and Dr. Jeff Gershman.

Isaac is active in continuing education through speaking engagements on the first year teacher experience and through scholarship, such as his article on first year teaching featured in The Instrumentalist in December 2017. Isaac has participated in several conducting workshops, including the University of Michigan Wind Band Symposium, the Northwestern University Wind Band Symposium, and the University of Illinois Wind Band Symposium, working with clinicians such as Mallory Thompson, Michael Haithcock, and Stephen Peterson.

While at Indiana University, Isaac served as a conference administrator and volunteer coordinator for the 2014 International Tuba-Euphonium Conference, hosted at Indiana University. He currently holds membership with the College Band Directors National Association, the Indiana Bandmasters Association, and the Indiana Music Education Association.
