Campaign 101

Has running for office been on your bucket list or something that just popped up, or perhaps you want the basics to support someone else? This is a whirlwind tour of the basics of running for office, delivered in a supportive, nonpartisan format by seasoned political veterans. Candidates will not be asked to reveal their own strategic details.

Candidates will be able to:

  • Make a personal assessment of readiness to run
  • Identify a race that meets their personal passion and interests
  • Learn campaign logistics, including characteristics of an effective mailer, strategy for absentee voters and election day operations
  • Develop a fundraising strategy
  • Articulate their campaign platform
  • Leverage the media
  • Practice speech skills
