About the Instructor

Bill Kay holds an MBA Degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and Marketing from the University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona. Bill is an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC), Bloch School of Management and teaches business classes at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas.

Bill has taught Corporate Finance for UMKC in their Executive MBA program. He also teaches for the American Management Association (AMA) delivering business courses to major corporations around the United States.

Bill developed and delivered training programs for the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership Inc. He is the owner of W. Kay & Associates, dedicated to helping organizations and individuals enhance their competitiveness, productivity, and technological performance.

For the past 28 years, Mr. Kay has specialized in assisting businesses in the quest to improve performance in the areas of strategic planning, finance and accounting, budgeting, project management, marketing, sales, and sales management training. Bill’s professional experience includes more than 20 years as CEO and owner of a major manufacturing company and the past 28 years helping major Fortune 500 companies and universities with organizational development and training.

Wai (“Y”) Lee is passionate about sharing his expertise in corporate innovation and artificial intelligence with organizations and individuals.

He is a frequent keynote speaker for international conferences, corporate events, and universities. He also designs and conducts product management training and innovation workshops for teams around the globe.

Wai is currently serving as the Vice President of Garmin Labs, responsible for
creating internal startups and new product categories. He has led the incubation, design, and development of flagship products in aviation, marine, outdoor, automotive, sports and fitness, contributing over $600M/year in sales with 20% operating margin. Wai is also an inventor on more than 20 issued patents.

Wai was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has an MS in Computer Science from the University of Kansas, an Executive MBA degree from Henry W. Bloch School of Management, and a Product Management Certification from the Haas School of Business, University of California Berkeley. He and his wife, Olive Lee, live in Overland Park, Kansas with their five children.

In his free time, Wai enjoys painting and spending time with his family.

Location and Parking:
The sessions will be held at the UMKC Bloch Executive Hall, 5108 Cherry Street, Kansas City, Missouri. Parking details will be sent after registration.

Cancellation & Transfer Policy:
Seminar participants (or their organizational representative) should call or email Bloch Executive Education in order to change or cancel registrations. Cancellations made prior to 7 days from the seminar date are eligible for credit towards a future seminar but are ineligible for refund. Credit for future seminar is valid through the following seminar year. Seminar registrations may be transferred from one individual to another up to 7 days before any elected seminar. Cancellations made within 7 days from the seminar date are non-transferable and non-refundable. Bloch Executive Education reserves the right to make changes to the cancellation policy and transfer policy. The current policies will be posted on our website and will be observed regardless of previous policies or standards. “No-shows” are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Photo and Video Release:
By attending the event, you are giving Bloch School of Management permission to use photos and videos from the workshop in future promotional materials.
