Virginia Blanton

Fulbright Scholar Award (2023-24)
School of Humanities and Social Science, will serve at the Ruusbroec Institute in Antwerp, Belgium. She will research English nuns who sought refuge in Catholic Flanders during the Protestant Reformation.

Yotam Haber

Fulbright Scholar Award (2023-24)
Associate Professor of Music Composition at the UMKC Conservatory, will serve at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in Israel. He will further develop the cross-fertilization of his creative work with traditional Jewish liturgical cantillation practices.

Gary Abbott

 Guggenheim Fellow (2022-2023)
Professor of Dance at the UMKC Conservatory, has developed a creative project that focuses on the prison system’s impact on the Black community; he first explored this subject when he created a dance titled, “Breaking the Dam: Mass Incarceration.”
