Dr. Wei Ji

Prof. Ji conducts research with geographic information systems (GIS) and satellite remote sensing techniques as related to wetland assessment, biogeographic studies, and urban landscape change analysis. He received research funds for US federal government for several projects on GIS and remote sensing studies for wetland vulnerability assessment and ecological trend analysis. His early research focused on marine and coastal remote sensing and GIS. He supervises interdisciplinary Ph.D. students across academic fields of geosciences, geoinformatics, computer science, and social sciences. He teaches courses in GIS, remote sensing, biogeography and landscape ecology, and environmental science.
