System Service and Engagement Awards

***Please note that all UM Presidential Award nominations must be reviewed and approved by the Provost prior to submitting to UM System, therefore all nominations  should be sent electronically to Awards@umkc.edu by January 10, 2020. The UMKC Faculty Affairs Office will handle obtaining the signatures for the Provost AND for the Title IX/Civil Rights Officer.

All required nomination materials (see Nomination Form for list of required materials for each award) should be in electronic format and merged into one single PDF file (see nomination form for file name requirements).   All letters of support should be signed and appear on appropriate department, unit, university, corporate, or organizational letterhead.

Campus Service and Engagement Awards

Staff are eligible for all three of the following awards!

  • Chancellor’s Award for Embracing Diversity – Nomination Deadline: April 3, 2020
    This award recognizes and celebrates UMKC faculty, staff, and registered student organizations engaging in UMKC’s Strategic Plan Pillar 4: Foster An Environment of Invigorating Multiculturalism, Globalism, Diversity and Inclusion
  •  Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Community Engagement – Nomination Deadline: April 3, 2020
    This award recognizes and celebrates faculty, staff, units and campus organizations that have made engagement with the community a central aspect of their approach to student learning and scholarship.
  •  Chancellor’s Award for Career Contributions to the University – Nomination Deadline: April 3, 2020
    One of UMKC’s highest honors to a University employee (faculty or staff) who has made significant contributions to higher education at UMKC over the course of his or her career and has significantly enhanced the mission of the University.
