Biography:
Dr. Stephanie Frank received her Ph.D. in Policy, Planning and Development from the University of Southern California and her B.A. and M.A. in American Studies with a Certificate in Historic Preservation from the University of Maryland, College Park. She has worked as a historic preservation planner on both coasts. Stephanie is a planning historian interested in private, corporate, and industrial planning. Additionally, Stephanie is interested in the relationship between identity and the built environment. Her current book project examines the role of the film industry in the urban development of metropolitan Los Angeles, 1920-1975. Stephanie teaches courses on planning history, urban studies, housing, and historic preservation.
