Internships and Careers

Internships can be a valuable way to gain insight into professional practice and establish connections that will aid in your job search after graduation. Given our urban setting and close relationship with design offices in Kansas City, you can start making those connections early, even in your early years in our Architectural Studies program.

After your transition to Kansas State University, each of the design programs offers a different way to explore internships while in college. The Departments of Architecture and Landscape Architecture offer the option of an internship or study abroad in the second semester of the fourth year. The Department of Interior Architecture /Product Design incorporates a summer internship into their curriculum after your third or fourth year.

Students are encouraged to pursue internships in cities that are new to them. As a result, KSU has helped place students in every major city in the United States and even abroad. The design programs also offer support in finding placement after graduation through a series of job fairs, mock interviews, counseling and placement notifications.
