Homestays can take 2 weeks to arrange, please contact the Homestay Coordinator and complete an application before you arrive in the U.S. If you wait until you arrive to request a homestay, you may have to stay in a hotel while we arrange a homestay. This can be very expensive. Homestays are subject to availability and the student’s English proficiency.
What to expect in a homestay:
Students living in a homestay have a private bedroom in an American home; bathrooms may be private or shared. The cost for a homestay is $800 per month, and includes breakfast and dinner, or $500 per month without meals.

About our Homestays
All of our families undergo background checks.
We originally found our hosts through local churches and community organizations. Now, we find hosts through word of mouth. Many of our new hosts heard about the program from long-time hosts who have told them about the experience.
Our homestays are all in the Kansas City area. Most are within a fifteen or twenty minute bus ride from campus. A few are within walking distance.
Are you interested in hosting International Students? Complete our Host Questionnaire and email it to our Homestay Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
