Scholarships

The ALI Scholarship

For students who are not receiving other types of funding, like government-sponsorship or additional scholarships, the ALI offers a partial scholarship so that you pay close to what a domestic student pays. The amount of the scholarship depends on your visa, how many classes you are taking and how long you study. Here is the list of scholarships for full-time study:

Academic Scholarships

ESL and conditionally admitted students are eligible to receive one of three types of scholarships for academic degree classes. Each scholarship covers 95 to 100% of an international student’s non-resident fees, so the student pays almost the same price as a Missouri state resident. This can save students more than $35,000 for a four-year degree! These scholarships only apply to degree coursework after a student completes ESL. Thus, students must be admitted to an academic degree program before they can receive one of these scholarships.

ALI Academic Scholarship

The ALI awards three academic scholarships each year exclusively to graduating ESL students. Because these awards are exclusive to ALI students, our graduating ESL students have a high probability of receiving one of these scholarships compared to the other scholarships that are offered to all internationally qualifying students. Award of the scholarship is based only on a students performance in ESL classes. Click here for more information.

Chancellor’s Non-Resident Award (CNR)

Academic departments award as many as 200 of these scholarships to incoming students that have strong academic backgrounds. The scholarship covers the non-resident portion of a student’s tuition. Students must have a minimum high school/college GPA of 3.0 to be eligible. Click here for more information.

Dean’s International Scholar Award (DISA)

This scholarship is awarded to incoming students that have strong academic backgrounds. The scholarship covers a large portion of the non-resident tuition rate. Students must have a minimum high school/college GPA of 3.0 to be eligible. Click here for more information.
