All UMKC students are able to ride the bus for free! Simply show your UMKC ID when you board.

Streetcar

KC’s Streetcar is relatively new. It connects the River Market to Union Station and Crown Center at no cost to you. Click here for more information.

Bicycle

BCycle is Kansas City’s public bike share system. They have 41 stations serving Downtown, North KC, Westport, the Plaza, 18th & Vine Jazz District, and around the Nelson-Atkins Museum.

Shuttle

UMKC has a FREE Shuttle Bus for Students to help travel around campus. Additionally, your Student ID Card operates as a bus pass for the Kansas City area.

Uber

Uber is a taxi service that is operated by independent contractors. Most students contact them using an app on their phone. Click here for more information.

Taxi & Car Services

Taxi stands are located at all major hotels, shopping and entertainment districts. Taxi fare starts at $2.50 with an additional $2 per mile and $1 for any time spent waiting in traffic.
