Your UMKC E-mail is an Office 365 account. Here, you will have access to emails from professors, blackboard, and other important features at the University. Not only is this an email, but also contains a calendar and online forms of Microsoft programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).

New student? If you are a newly admitted student at UMKC, you’ll need to set up your account by following the steps below.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Your O365 account is a separate account from the one you use for Pathway, Blackboard, and other UMKC services.
If you have already completed these steps you may visit http://mail.umkc.edu to check your mail.

- Click here to begin. Log in with your UMKC SSO and password (the same username and password you use for Pathway – if you don’t know this password, visit our Password page. If you don’t know your SSO, contact the IS Call Center).
- After you log in with your SSO and password, you will be prompted to enter a New Password and to Confirm New Password. The password you enter in these boxes will become your Office 365 student email password. Your SSO password will remain unchanged.
- Visit http://mail.umkc.edu and log in with yourSSO@mail.umkc.edu and the password you set in Step 2.
- Finish setting up your O365 account by selecting the appropriate Time Zone and Language options.
If you ever forget your email password, but know your SSO password, you can revisit the Office 365 Password Reset page to reset your password using your SSO credentials.
