Harry S. Truman

Born May 8th, 1884, Harry S. Truman was the 33rd president of the U.S. His legacy lives on at the Truman Library located here in Kansas City.



Charlie Parker

Born in the 1920s, Charlie Parker was a revolutionary jazz musician known for the creation of Bebop. Parker’s work and history is present and lived on in the Jazz & Vine district of Kansas City.


Walt Disney

Walt Disney worked in a studio in Kansas City when he designed his vision for his films. Now, his work is known globally! His life lives on through television and theme parks.



Ewing & Murial Kauffman

The Kauffman’s are big super stars in Kansas City. With the Kauffman Foundation school, KC Royals Kauffman baseball stadium, performing arts hall, and more, as entrepreneur’s, philanthropist’s, and business owners the Kauffman’s have made extraordinary contributions to Kansas City.


William Rockhill Nelson

This man is known as the founder on Kansas City’s newspaper, The

Kansas City Star. As a local celebrity, his mansion was transformed into the Nelson Atkins Art Museum, which is now the largest free museum in the United States!





Marion & Henry Bloch

From Kansas City, Henry Bloch is the founder of H&R Block, a large tax return company in the U.S. The family now shares a foundation that contributes to the Kansas City area through numerous services. At UMKC, the Bloch Business School recognizes the Bloch family for their legacy in the business world!



Don Cheadle

From Kansas City, Don Cheadle is a famous American actor. You can catch him in Iron Man and The Avengers! He is also a musician, director, and producer.

This Fashion Designer has been extremely successful through her line of accessories, especially in handbags. From Kansas City, she has won several awards from all over the world and her work is widely known! One of her stores is located right here in Kansas City on the Country Club Plaza.




Maurice Green

Maurice is an Olympic athlete, who once held the world record in the 100 meter dash! He has a renowned history in the track and field world.



Paul Rudd

Studied Theater in Kansas City, Paul Rudd is an actor, comedian, writer, and producer. You may recognize him from films such as: Perks of Being a Wallflower, Night at the Museum, The Fundamentals of Caring, and more!
