I think that the Umkc’s master plan does fall in ordinance with within Dalton’s scale of campus planning framework. The umkc’s new master plan focuses on enhanced bike lanes and crosswalks that make it safer for pedestrians. Dalton describes this as a part of the sustainability initiative by stating “Sustainability , or the concept of a Green Campus, involves looking at the campus and its setting as an ecosystem. Changing travel behavior, reducing gas emissions, increasing natural resource conservation, and improving the visual quality of landscaping are common goals”. The umkc’s master’s plan adresses this by stating “opportunities to improve the entire right of way should also be considered. Bike lanes, where possible, should be added or enhanced, allowing for the creation of stronger connections to the regional bikeway network and emphasis on multi-modal arrival to campus .” The umkc’s master plan adresses the design aspect as well by stating that they will enhance the entry ways to the school as well as implement more greenery within the the campus.
