DestinationGraduationLooking to get an edge this semester?  Be sure to check out the Student Success Seminars, hosted by the Offices of Academic Support and Mentoring, Career Services, MindBody Connection, UMKC Central, UMKC Libraries, and the Writing Studio.

Seminars cover a range of topics, such as preparing for the RooWriter, using library resources, taking care of yourself, taking essay exams, study skills, healthy eating on a budget, and more.  All seminars sessions will be held in the Atterbury Student Success Center.

Preparing for Finals Seminar

Finals are quickly approaching for this semester. Do you need some extra study tips on how to study for your finals? During this week’s seminar we will be discussing different types of finals, ways to approach certain finals in regards to studying. Obviously it is important to study in order to do well on your exams, but it is also important to take care of yourself in order to do well while studying on during your exam. We will be discussion ways on how to relax and ways of taking care of yourself to minimize anxiety and stress before the big exam.

This Week’s Seminars are:

  • 4/17     Tues     12:30pm   Student Union room 419
  • 4/18   Wed      3:00pm  Student Union room 419

This is the final seminar for the semester!

Click here for the semester schedule.  Seminars are mandatory for students on financial aid contracts, Bloch Scholars and Osher Scholars.  Each session lasts approximately 50 minutes.  Students must sign in within 10 minutes of the seminar starting to receive credit.

Making a Plan Towards Graduation and Beyond

This week’s workshop will discuss how your educational path here at UMKC will help lead you into your career after graduation.  Career Services will also be on hand to give tips on creating your resume as well as a cover letter.  Overwhelmed with the job searching process and then what to do once you have applied for a job, or a few? We will be discussing some tips and strategies on how to search for your perfect job after graduation and go over a few interview techniques and strategies to help you land that dream job.
