Do you have trouble finding out how to begin writing essays or papers for class? This seminar is designed to help students become aware of pre-writing methods in order to find the one most suited for them. Also, students will also learn of different databases that are subject-specific and of materials available to them through the UMKC library in order to find sources to write papers and other class assignments. We will also learn together, how to navigate the library website in order to utilize available databases.

Bring your best Roo spirit to the 2011 Homecoming festivities! Events kicked off on Monday, September 26th, with a week full of fun and exciting activities for students! From karaoke to movie shows, from talent competitions to golf cart parades, even lunch with Chancellor Morton, there’s a way for every student and student organization to get involved!
Students can participate in various events throughout the week to grab one of 500 free Homecoming long-sleeve t-shirts. Students who wear their shirts to either the women’s or men’s soccer games will be entered into a drawing to win a pair of Jay-Z/Kanye West tickets at the Sprint Center!
Student organizations can also get involved with our Roo Cutout Contest, Golf Cart Decorating Contest, and also help out at the Block Party! Prizes range from free shirts to free pizza to additional funding for your organizations!

The MindBody Connection will move from its current location in the University Center to a temporary new home in the Student Union (through Summer 2012). The MindBody Connection will be closed the week of September 26-30 for the move, and will reopen on Monday, October 3 in Room 327 of the Student Union, near the Office of Student Involvement and Multicultural Student Affairs. Come say hello in our new location and check out your favorite MindBody stress-reducers…including the massage chair, herbal tea, relaxation videos and music, aromatherapy, and HeartMath biofeedback software.
