UMKC RN-BSN and other online degree programs receive HLC approval

UMKC School of Nursing‘s RN-BSN degree program has received approval by our accrediting agency, the Higher Learning Commission [HLC], to transition from being an onsite to an online program. Last August, a team from HLC conducted a UMKC site visit that focused on the university’s distance/online degree programs recently reclassified by the commission .

UMKC teacher and nurse leads health care team to Ethiopia

In June 2010, JoAnn Klaassen, a clinical assistant professor at UMKC School of Nursing, led a health care team to rural Ethiopia. “A church organization in Olathe organized the trip initially to address clean water and hygiene issues at the request of an Ethiopian family in the church,” Klaassen said.
