Susan G. Komen Greater Kansas City began with a Race for the Cure® event in 1994. This year will mark the 21st anniversary of the signature event held the second weekend in August. Last year, nearly 20,000 people came together in Kansas City’s largest walk/run to celebrate and honor breast cancer survivors. Through numerous fundraising efforts over the years, Komen Kansas City has invested more than $10 million to support local breast cancer education, screening and treatment.
