The University of Missouri-Kansas City is unveiling its re-branded Division of Strategic Marketing and Communications — MCom for short.
The newly named MCom features a new website at www.umkc.edu/mcom to inform and inspire. MCom’s tagline: Stewards of the UMKC Story.
Anne Hartung Spenner, Vice Chancellor for MCom, wanted the new identity to reflect that the division includes marketing and creative strategy in addition to communications.
MCom includes public relations specialists who pitch UMKC stories and handle media requests; designers, editors and project managers who produce magazines and guides; marketing pros who create billboards and posters; social media experts; photographers; and digital team members who oversee www.umkc.edu.
MCom is introducing relationship managers to oversee and coordinate all messaging for specific academic units — think of them as the guides to telling each school’s UMKC story. Relationship managers listen to your needs, assess strategic fit and work with MCom staff to develop the best solution. Questions you’ll be asked: What is your goal, audience, budget and time frame? They will connect you with the right MCom team to make your projects come to life. Planning, concept, writing and design services are provided to core university clients at no cost.
