UMKC is in week four of this year’s RecycleMania competition. The university is currently ranking #2 out of 260 campuses nationwide in the Grand Champion category. The goal is to place in the top 10 of all campuses participating.  RecycleMania is an annual nationwide competition that challenges schools to increase their recycling efforts. The competition hopes to spark new and long-lasting sustainable practices across the country.

This year, Building Services will host an in-house competition called “Clean Your Files”. This gives all departments a chance to recycle old files and papers. Prizes will be awarded to participating individuals and departments.  The department that recycles the most will win two new recycling bins.

Building Services will provide up to two 95-gallon tote recycling containers to be filled within a three-day limit.  Contact Building Services at ext. 1620 for pick-up and drop-off of the 95- gallon recycle bins.

Remember, “If we all do a little, we all do a lot!”

Important Dates:
RecycleMania began: Feb. 3
RecycleMania ends:  Mar. 30
