International Academic Programs and the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures will host an inaugural study abroad fundraising breakfast on Wednesday, Feb. 13th from 7:30 – 9 a.m. to raise scholarship funds for UMKC study abroad students.
According to the sponsors, money is the number one reason students are unable to study abroad and funding decreases in recent years have significantly reduced the available scholarships.
Keynote speakers will be Michelle Wimes (BA ’88; 2012 Alumni Award Recipient; study abroad participant to Spain and Mexico) and Joseph Salazar (Political Science and English major; study abroad participant to Russia, FS ’12).
This breakfast is open to the public. Individual seats are $30 or $20 for students. Please register at Study Abroad Breakfast.
