On November 15, 2012, the UMKC Libraries and Campus Facilities Management staff members were joined by project architects and members of the construction team for the Miller Nichols Learning Center “Topping Out” ceremony.
The last steel beam to be placed in the structure was available to be signed prior to the event. Following brief remarks by Bob Simmons, Associate Vice Chancellor Facilities, the beam was placed as the attendees watched through windows in the Southwest corner of Miller Nichols Library overlooking the construction.
