Dean Wanda J. Blanchett announced that the School of Education received its continuing accreditation by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
The school passed all six NCATE standards: candidate knowledge, skills and professional dispositions; assessment system and unit evaluation; field experiences and clinical practice; diversity; faculty qualifications, performance, and development; and unit governance and resources with no areas for improvement noted.
Additionally, it was recognized in the area of diversity as having exceeded national standards in curriculum, faculty and candidate experiences with diverse learners. All 31 of the school’s certification programs were reviewed and approved by the state.
