The Community of Science database for funding opportunities is now known as PIVOT. Faculty can take advantage of UMKC’s institutional subscription to PIVOT to discover funding opportunities and possible colleague collaboration opportunities.
PIVOT is considered one of the best databases for currently available grants, prizes, awards and other funding opportunities. It represents more than $33 billion in funding in all disciplines, including physical sciences, social sciences, life sciences, health and medicine and arts and humanities.
It identifies information related to numerous areas, including research, collaborative activities, travel, curriculum development, conferences, fellowships and post-doctoral positions. Sources of this information are international in scope and include federal and regional governments, foundations, professional societies, associations and corporations.
Searches can be by subject area, sponsor, amount, deadline, eligibility of applicant and funding type.
COS Pivot also includes detailed professional information for scholars and scientists worldwide. Faculty scholar profiles in PIVOT, which faculty members may edit, allow researchers to identify and collaborate with colleagues working in similar research areas at other institutions.
Previous user accounts in COS automatically will be set up to claim profiles in PIVOT. If you have not used this resource in the past, log in to explore how to use PIVOT to enhance your research.
