A section of Cherry Street on the UMKC campus will be closed from Dec. 26 to Jan. 6, 2011, so that the Cherry Street Parking Structure footings and bridgework can be installed and a temporary protected pedestrian walkway put in place. The affected portion of Cherry Street is from 50^th Street to Bixby Lane.

Cars travelling south on Cherry from Volker Boulevard must turn right (west) at 50^th Street. Only the southbound lane of Cherry Street is open at the westernmost exit of Bixby Lane. Traffic moving north on Cherry Street will be diverted east at 51^st Street (in front of the Student Union).  

Barricades and signage will alert drivers to these closings.
