Several changes are underway to prepare the current University Center for the Student Success Center Project, a renovation process slated for Nov. 2011 through Aug. 2012. During the renovation and construction phase, only specific segments of the facility will remain open. Conference and event activities will be suspended during this time.
In anticipation of the building’s closure, plans are underway for temporary office relocation, conference and activity relocation, and facility preparation for services that will remain functional during the renovation process.
The following offices in the University Center have recently relocated to temporary locations during the construction and renovation period:
- The Year 1 and 2 Medical Advising Office, UC 138, has relocated to Oak Street Hall, Office 2001F. The office can be reached at (816) 235-1344. All contact information for staff within the office, with the exception of physical address, has remained the same.
- The Office of Services for Students with Disabilities, UC 131, has relocated to 4825 Troost, Room 104. The office can be reached at (816) 235-5612. All contact information for staff within the office, with the exception of physical address, has remained the same.
- The Mind-Body Connection, UC 161, has relocated to the Student Union, Room 327. The office can be reached at (816) 235-5189. All contact information for staff within the office, with the exception of physical address, has remained the same.
- The One Card Office, UC 101A, has relocated to the Student Union, Room 410. The office can be reached at (816) 235-6657. Office hours will continue to operate from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. David Babcock, Supervisor One Card Office, has relocated to the Student Union, Room 413. All contact information for staff within the office, with the exception of physical address, has remained the same.
- The University Center Adminstrative Office, UC 144 and now part of the Student Union Operation, has relocated to G36 of the University Center, adjacent to the UMKC Dining Services Office. The office can be reached at (816) 235-1411. All contact information for staff within the office, with the exception of physical address, has remained the same.
Conference and event activities in Pierson Auditorium and the University Center through Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, will proceed as scheduled. All activities and events originally scheduled from Nov. 7 through Nov. 30, 2011, are being addressed individually through Student Union Conference and Meeting Services.

Reservation requests for Pierson Auditorium or other conference spaces at the Student Success Center after its reopening will not be taken until June 18, 2012.
The University Center Cafeteria and the UMKC Café featuring Starbucks will remain open throughout the construction and renovation period. Access to the dining locations will be available only through the north atrium entrance into the facility. The cafeteria operates from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The UMKC Café featuring Starbucks is open from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. A decision regarding the temporary status of the University Barbershop, currently located on the Basement Level of the facility, will be made in the near future and communicated at that time.
