On Nov. 16, 2010, the UMKC Faculty Senate voted to support the issuing of bonds for three (3) UMKC Capital Projects, which would address enrollment capacity (larger classrooms) and student recruitment (retention and success).
Approval of the Oak Street Parking structure was the most controversial. After much discussion and ultimate approval, the Faculty Senate unanimously passed a separate motion to express disappointment with the lack of studies to examine alternatives and to request that such studies be carried out within two years to study green alternatives, particularly for on-campus residential students and to plan for future student population increases.
