The UMKC Health and Life Sciences Schools co-hosted the UMKC Health Sciences Research Summit on Wednesday, April 20, in the UMKC Health Sciences Building on the Hospital Hill Campus. The purpose of the Research Summit was to make the UMKC community aware of the health sciences related research being conducted in the Schools of Biological Sciences, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy and to foster research collaborations across disciplines and schools.
During the event, students and faculty of the UMKC Health and Life Sciences Schools showcased their research in the form of poster presentations, with more than 130 posters on display throughout the Health Sciences Building. Judy Baker, Regional Director, Region VII, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, was the Keynote Speaker at the Research Summit Opening Ceremony.
A panel of judges selected posters presented by students from each of four categories as the best in terms of scientific merit and impact on health sciences.
