The Hub

As a way to help our cyclists stay on the road and to encourage more people to pedal instead of drive, UMKC established,  The Hub, an on-campus bike station located at 5301 Charlotte. The Hub provides repair and maintenance for UMKC Clean Commute loaner bikes at no cost. UMKC students, staff and faculty may also visit The Hub to get a non-loner bike repaired, volunteer, or learn more about alternative transportation options around Kansas City.

Swinney Recreation Center manages the ‘Clean Commute’ bicycle program where over 50 bikes are available each school semester (summer, fall, spring). Swinney Recreation Center also has 2 bikes that are available for daily check out to students and SRC members.

For semester-long bike loans, stop by The Hub for more information (hours and address are below). Bicycles are available on a first come, first serve basis.  First week of each semester is open to first time program riders only, returns are welcome the following week.
