UMKC has begun creating and implementing a campus-wide, comprehensive green purchasing policy which includes:

• Engagement of vendors in take back recycling programs for major purchases.
• Use of green cleaners by custodial staff began.
• Purchase of recycled content paper-30% post consumer.
• Use of environmentally-friendly ice melt.
• Purchase of more locally-grown food in Sodexho food offerings.
